Automation, Digitalization and High-Performance Machinery Are Driving the Future of Spinning

Exclusive Interview with P. J. Rajesh, COO of LMW Global FZE, at ITM 2026 Istanbul
At ITM 2026 Istanbul, Kohan Textile Journal spoke with Mr. P. J. Rajesh, Chief Operating Officer of LMW Global FZE, about the company’s latest innovations in spinning technology. During the interview, Mr. Rajesh introduced LMW’s new generation of ring spinning and carding machines, discussed automation and digitalization solutions designed to address labor shortages, and shared his outlook on the Turkish market and the growing importance of ITM as an international business platform.

Q&A: LMW on Smart Spinning Technologies and the Turkish Market

What are the major innovations LMW is showcasing at ITM 2026?

P. J. Rajesh:

At ITM 2026, we are presenting several of our latest products together with our automation and digitalization solutions.

One of our key highlights is the new LR 90 Series Ring Frame, featuring up to 2,400 spindles. It offers higher productivity while requiring less production space, enabling spinning mills to maximize output and improve operational efficiency.

We are also showcasing our new LC 9S Card, a 1.28-meter carding machine that provides customers with approximately 1% higher yarn realization, helping improve fiber utilization and production economics.

Labor shortages have become a major challenge for the textile industry. How is LMW responding to this issue?

P. J. Rajesh:

Automation is becoming increasingly important for spinning mills around the world.
To address labor shortages, we have developed RAP (Ring Frame Auto Piecing), an automation solution that significantly reduces manual intervention during ring spinning operations.

By automating critical production processes, manufacturers can improve productivity, maintain consistent yarn quality, and reduce dependence on manual labor.

Q: How is digitalization changing modern spinning mills?

P. J. Rajesh:

Digitalization is another important focus for us.
At ITM 2026, we are introducing SpinConnect 2.0, our latest digital solution designed to help spinning mills monitor production, improve machine performance, and support data-driven decision-making.

We believe digital technologies will become an essential component of future smart spinning mills.

Q: How important is ITM for LMW?

P. J. Rajesh:

ITM is much more than an exhibition for us.
It provides an excellent opportunity to meet not only customers from Türkiye but also visitors from CIS countries such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.
This year, we are also seeing a growing number of visitors from African countries, making ITM an increasingly international platform for developing new business relationships and expanding into emerging markets.

Q: How do you evaluate the Turkish textile market?

P. J. Rajesh:

Türkiye has always been an important market for LMW.
We have been operating in Türkiye for more than 30 years through our office in Kahramanmaraş, and today we serve around 60 customers across the country.

We continue to see strong long-term potential in the Turkish textile industry and are pleased to participate in ITM 2026. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration with existing customers while building new partnerships in the years ahead.
