Sedo Treepoint at ITM 2026: Smart Dyehouse Automation Driving Sustainable Textile Production

At ITM 2026 in Istanbul, Behnam Ghasemi, Editor-in-Chief of Kohan Textile Journal, spoke with Mr. Sebastian Lindemann, Sales Manager at Sedo Treepoint. In this exclusive interview, he discusses the company’s latest dyeing machine controllers, digital solutions for textile dyehouses, the importance of the Turkish market, and how automation is helping manufacturers improve sustainability through reduced water, energy, and chemical consumption.

Nearly 50 Years of Smart Automation for Textile Dyehouses

Could you please introduce Sedo Treepoint?

Sebastian Lindemann: My name is Sebastian Lindemann, and I represent Sedo Treepoint.
Our company is headquartered in Mengerskirchen, Germany, and was founded in 1978. We are approaching 50 years of experience in developing automation and software solutions for textile dyeing.

Our main business is the production of controllers for textile dyeing machines. We work closely with leading textile machinery manufacturers worldwide, supplying automation systems for their equipment.

In addition to machine controllers, we also develop software solutions for textile dyehouses, including central monitoring systems, color measurement software, quality control systems, and recipe development solutions for textile dyeing processes.

What technologies are you presenting at ITM 2026?

Sebastian Lindemann: At ITM 2026, we are presenting our latest generation of machine controllers.
Our flagship product is the Sedomat 8000 Series, which represents our newest controller platform for textile dyeing machines.

We are also showcasing the Sedomat 6000-10, which offers a more cost-effective solution while still delivering powerful performance for dyeing applications.

These controllers help textile manufacturers improve process control, production efficiency, and dyeing quality.

Why is the Turkish market important for Sedo Treepoint?

Sebastian Lindemann: Türkiye is a very important market for Sedo Treepoint.
On one side, we cooperate with many Turkish textile machinery manufacturers who integrate our controllers into their machines.

On the other hand, we also serve textile dyehouses directly, where our automation systems and software are used in daily production.

Because of its strong textile manufacturing industry, Türkiye remains one of our key strategic markets.

How do you see the future of the textile industry?

Sebastian Lindemann: At the moment, the textile industry is facing challenges due to the global economic situation.
However, we remain optimistic.

We believe there are good opportunities for the market to recover, and we expect business conditions to improve as the global economy strengthens.

We are looking forward to the coming months and the next few years with confidence.

What is your view on the textile potential of the Middle East and Africa?

Sebastian Lindemann: I believe both the Middle East and Africa offer significant future potential.

Today many investments in these regions are concentrated in spinning, weaving and knitting.

However, I expect that more dyehouses and textile finishing facilities will be established in the future.

As these downstream manufacturing sectors continue to develop, they will become attractive markets for our automation and process control solutions.

Sustainability has become a key priority for textile manufacturers. How does Sedo Treepoint contribute?

Sebastian Lindemann: Sustainability is extremely important today, especially because energy costs have increased significantly.

Our automation solutions help customers reduce the consumption of water, energy, chemicals and dyestuffs by improving process accuracy.

One of the biggest advantages is increasing Right First Time Dyeing, allowing customers to achieve the correct shade in the first dyeing cycle without unnecessary reprocessing.
This leads to lower resource consumption, reduced waste and more sustainable textile production.

What sustainability measures has Sedo Treepoint implemented internally?

Sebastian Lindemann: We also apply sustainability within our own company.
For example, we have installed solar panels on the roof of our headquarters, which significantly reduce our electricity consumption.

In addition, we use electric vehicles that are charged using the electricity generated by our solar system.

We believe these are practical steps that contribute to a more sustainable future.

Editor’s Insight

As textile manufacturers increasingly digitalize their production, automation is becoming one of the industry’s strongest sustainability tools. Sedo Treepoint demonstrates that modern dyehouse control systems are no longer simply machine controllers—they are intelligent process management platforms capable of improving quality while simultaneously reducing water, chemicals, energy and production costs.
Technologies such as Right First Time Dyeing are becoming essential as textile mills seek to balance profitability with environmental responsibility. As new dyeing and finishing investments emerge across the Middle East and Africa, advanced automation solutions are expected to play a critical role in building more competitive and sustainable textile manufacturing facilities.
