Uztekstilprom Association and Wildberries Collaborate to Boost Uzbekistan’s Textile Exports

On September 4th, the Uztekstilprom Association and the international online platform Wildberries unveiled their joint initiative aimed at enhancing the export capabilities of manufacturing enterprises in Uzbekistan.

In a welcoming address, the association’s management expressed gratitude to participants and highlighted the potential of their cooperation with the online platform to enable Uzbek manufacturers to penetrate the markets of CIS countries, thereby bolstering their export potential.

Sardor Kadyrov, the representative of Wildberries in Uzbekistan, underscored the significance of this collaborative project for the country, recognizing the longstanding efforts of the Uzbekistan government in supporting manufacturers of finished textile products and fostering their export growth.

Muzaffar Azamov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan e-commerce association, elaborated on the advantages of the international marketplace for Uzbek entrepreneurs, particularly those in the textile sector, given its prominence and high demand in the republic.

During discussions, participants explored prospects for the development of local production within the online segment, with the goal of increasing the competitiveness and trade turnover of textile enterprises and local businesses in selling finished products to neighboring countries.

The launch of a comprehensive training project at the Wildberries business school was also announced, offering substantial opportunities for Uzbek manufacturers of textile products to access foreign markets.

On-site training sessions, led by leading experts from the Wildberries business school, Emilia Frank and Pavel Ichin, will provide practical guidance on commencing sales on the online platform and strategies for effectively promoting products on Wildberries. The initial seminars for textile manufacturers and local entrepreneurs are scheduled for October 4-8 in Tashkent, Namangan, Ferghana, and Andijan, held in partnership with the Uztekstilprom Association.

Sardor Kadyrov, Director of Wildberries in Uzbekistan, expressed confidence that the training project from the Wildberries business school would enhance the financial literacy of current and future partners, enabling the sale of Uzbek-made goods in seven foreign markets through the online platform.

Wildberries is committed to fostering an open dialogue with local product producers and entrepreneurs, continually enhancing its platform services to facilitate the growth of local businesses in the online sector. Products originating from Uzbekistan are gaining popularity on the platform, with sales from the country increasing by an impressive 94% year-on-year during the January-August 2023 period, amounting to over US$285 million.
