During the 2025 edition of the International Textile, Clothing, and Printing Industry Expo (ITCPE) in Guangzhou, Mr. Steven, Sales Manager at HANYU Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., shared key insights into the company’s unwavering focus on innovation and its renewed momentum in international trade—especially with the United States.
Innovation at the Core of HANYU’s Growth Strategy
“Innovation is the first thing we must do,” emphasized Mr. Steven during the interview. HANYU, a well-established leader in intelligent garment and textile machinery, invests over 20% of its annual sales revenue into R&D, with a strong emphasis on cutting-edge technological advancements.
“Our goal is to contribute meaningfully to China’s transformation from traditional manufacturing to smart manufacturing. Every upgrade we pursue is rooted in intelligent design and high-efficiency performance,” he added.
Navigating Trade Tensions with Resilience
Reflecting on past challenges, Mr. Steven discussed the impact of trade policies under former U.S. President Donald Trump. At the height of the U.S.–China tariff war, tariffs on certain machinery reached as high as 200%, which rendered exports to the U.S. commercially unviable. “With such high tariffs, and profit margins below 10% in our sector, it was simply not sustainable,” he noted.
However, with the easing of these extreme tariffs, HANYU’s business with the U.S. has resumed, and partnerships are once again flourishing. “Fortunately, policy changes have brought things back to normal, and our export channels to America have been reactivated,” said Steven, signaling optimism for continued expansion in North American markets.
Looking Ahead
With a strong foundation in R&D, and a renewed ability to engage with key global markets, HANYU Intelligent Equipment continues to position itself at the forefront of smart manufacturing solutions for the textile and garment sectors. The company remains committed to driving innovation, enhancing international cooperation, and supporting the evolution of next-generation apparel production.
