Tusa Grup Highlights Turkish Denim’s Growing Footprint at Colombiamoda 2025

At Colombiamoda 2025, one of Latin America’s most prominent fashion and textile platforms, Tusa Grup presented its vision for expanding Turkish denim’s global reach while emphasizing sustainability and innovation as the cornerstones of its growth strategy.

Speaking to Kohan Textile Journal, Vedat Kalay, Marketing Director of Tusa Grup, underscored the company’s strength as a fully integrated textile manufacturer — from yarn production to finished fabric. With a monthly capacity of 3.5 million meters, Tusa Grup already supplies leading European brands across 15 countries and is actively strengthening its presence in new markets.

“We believe our products are a strong match for Latin America. While we already serve the U.S. and South Korean markets, Colombiamoda provides us the opportunity to understand regional demand better and build long-term connections,” Kalay noted.

Turkish Denim in Demand

Turkish denim has witnessed significant international growth, with increasing attention from U.S. and European buyers. Kalay emphasized that Latin America, particularly Colombia, offers promising opportunities:

“For years, Europe has absorbed the majority of Turkish denim capacity. Now, as European demand shows signs of slowing, Turkish producers are looking at new geographies. This market is clearly ready for high-quality, sustainable Turkish fabrics.”

A Commitment to Sustainability

Tusa Grup’s investment strategy reflects the global shift toward environmentally responsible textiles. Since the pandemic, the company has expanded production capacity while adopting green energy solutions, organic and recycled fibers, and innovative waterless dyeing processes.

“The future of textiles is sustainability-driven. From energy efficiency to climate-conscious production, our focus is to deliver fabrics with added value while reducing environmental impact,” Kalay explained.

Looking Ahead

Tusa Grup’s participation at Colombiamoda aligns with its broader strategy of diversifying export markets while reinforcing Turkey’s position as a global hub for denim innovation. With strong certifications in sustainable production and a comprehensive product portfolio — from blends and Tencel to linen and organic fabrics — the company sees Latin America as a natural extension of its global business.
