The partnership introduces two merino wool layers incorporating Nuyarn’s proprietary spinning technology, with further styles under development.
Nuyarn Technologies has partnered with YETI to incorporate its merino wool technology into the outdoor brand’s performance apparel collection.
The collaboration introduces two styles: the Caprock Merino 250 Quarter-Zip, a midweight layer featuring waffle-knit construction, and the Hueco Merino 310 Full-Zip, a heavyweight garment designed for warmth, stretch, breathability and moisture management.
The launch marks an expansion into performance apparel for YETI, best known for its coolers and drinkware.
Spinning technology targets durability and comfort
Both garments use Nuyarn’s proprietary spinning technology, which is designed to enhance the performance of merino wool.
According to Nuyarn, the technology delivers nine times greater durability, 35% higher thermal retention and three times faster drying than conventional spun merino, while using 30% less material. The announcement did not specify the testing conditions or comparison fabrics behind these figures.
The partnership brings these claimed benefits into garments intended for outdoor activities and everyday use, combining wool’s natural characteristics with engineered yarn performance.

Further merino styles planned
Andy Wynne, CEO of Nuyarn, said the companies share a focus on durability and performance, describing the partnership as a natural fit for the technology.
He added that further styles are in development, indicating plans to extend the collaboration beyond the two initial garments.
The collection highlights the role of yarn engineering in developing wool-based performance apparel, as brands seek to balance warmth, moisture management, durability and comfort.
