Tom Daley and Woolmark Launch Merino Wool Knitting Kit to Inspire New Generation of Crafters

Olympic diving champion and entrepreneur Tom Daley has partnered with The Woolmark Company to launch a brand-new wool knitting kit, featuring three exclusive patterns for a jumper, a vest, and a hat—all made from 100% certified Merino wool.

The collaboration marks Daley’s debut as a Woolmark ambassador, building on his growing reputation as a leader in the global crafting community. Since taking up knitting during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to “channel his energy,” Daley has helped fuel a revival in knitting and crochet, founding the Made With Love brand to unite enthusiasts and inspire beginners.

Over the past six months, the Made With Love team has worked closely with UK-based yarn manufacturer Laxtons to develop and test premium wool yarns. The result is a colorful, soft, and sustainable knit kit featuring shades like lilac, lemon, lime, peach, candy pink, and natural cream, certified by Woolmark for quality and sustainability.

“The knit kit brings some of my favourite pieces to life using 100% Merino wool,” said Daley. “The fibre’s natural properties make it perfect for comfort, breathability, and warmth. It’s a natural, renewable fibre I’ve always trusted and loved, and I can’t wait to see how it inspires others on their knitting journey.”

The Made With Love x Woolmark knit kits are now available via the Made With Love website and will soon be stocked at select retailers across the UK, US, Europe, and Asia.

Daley’s passion for the craft reached global audiences during the Tokyo Olympics, where viral images showed him knitting poolside between competitions. His dedicated Instagram account, @madewithlovebytomdaley, gained over a million followers almost overnight, propelling him to the forefront of the contemporary DIY movement.

This new partnership with Woolmark not only showcases Merino wool’s versatility but also reinforces the growing appeal of sustainable, creative hobbies in today’s fast-paced world.
