FURKAN TEKSTIL Targets Growth in the Americas with Sustainable Fabric Collections at Colombiamoda 2026

Turkish fabric manufacturer FURKAN TEKSTIL is strengthening its international expansion strategy by participating in Colombiamoda 2026, with a particular focus on developing new business opportunities across South America and the wider Americas.

During an interview with Behnam Ghasemi, Editor-in-Chief of Kohan Textile Journal, Metehan Altuntaş discussed the company’s long-standing textile expertise, commitment to sustainable innovation, and growing emphasis on natural fiber collections.

Founded in the 1980s, FURKAN TEKSTIL has become a trusted fabric supplier to the global fashion industry. The company serves numerous international apparel manufacturers and works with globally recognized fashion brands, including Inditex Group, H&M, Mango, and Zara. Supported by internationally recognized certifications such as OEKO-TEX®, Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), and Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), the company continues to meet the evolving sustainability expectations of global buyers.

In addition to its fabric manufacturing capabilities, FURKAN TEKSTIL operates its own dyeing facility, allowing greater flexibility, quality control, and faster response to market demands.

“Innovation is one of our key strengths,” said Metehan Altuntaş. “We develop new collections in collaboration with Italian and Spanish designers, and recently we have focused heavily on fabrics made from natural fibers. We know that these products are increasingly preferred in the South American market, which is one of the main reasons we are exhibiting at Colombiamoda.”

South America Offers New Export Opportunities

Altuntaş also highlighted the strategic importance of Latin America as a production and sourcing hub, particularly for companies serving the U.S. market.

“South America has become an important manufacturing base for exports to the United States. With recent increases in tariffs affecting direct exports, we see this region as an opportunity to strengthen our presence and establish new commercial partnerships that can support our long-term growth,” he explained.

According to Altuntaş, Colombiamoda has attracted a high number of professional visitors, apparel manufacturers, and serious buyers, providing an excellent platform for networking and business development.
