Trützschler Highlights Sustainable Spinning at Inaugural COTTON USA™ Conference in Cairo

Trützschler was proud to participate in the first-ever COTTON USA™ Conference in Egypt, which concluded yesterday in Cairo, bringing together key players across the cotton and textile value chain. The event served as a vital platform to discuss emerging trends in cotton production, trade, and processing.

Dr. Bettina Temath, Head of Global Marketing at Trützschler, presented the company’s advanced solutions for sustainable and efficient spinning preparation—a critical step in achieving high-quality cotton yarn. Her session emphasized the importance of maximizing fiber utilization and minimizing waste in spinning operations, aligning with global goals for sustainable textile manufacturing.

The conference featured insights from top Egyptian textile manufacturers, including Koudsitex, and provided a comprehensive outlook on Egypt’s evolving textile industry.

Key takeaways from the event included:

  • Rising investments expected in Egypt’s textile sector, fueled by its competitive labor and energy costs
  • Growing demand for coarser cotton yarns in Egypt, supported by anticipated increases in cotton imports from the U.S.
  • A strong industry focus on sustainable cotton production and processing, aimed at making the most of every fiber while reducing environmental impact

Trützschler extended its appreciation to COTTON USA™, as well as to Dr. Mohamed Negm, Country Manager of Cotton Council International, and Nezihi Aslankeser, EMEA Representative, for organizing a dynamic and forward-looking event.

As Egypt strengthens its position in the global cotton value chain, Trützschler reaffirms its commitment to supporting partners in the region with innovative, eco-conscious textile machinery that ensures every cotton fiber counts.
