RIUS, a leading Spanish manufacturer of advanced textile machinery, has reaffirmed its focus on innovation, global expansion, and sustainability in a recent company update shared by key executives Oscar Rius and Valenti Rus.
Oscar RIUS:
Representing the third generation of the family-run business, revealed that the company is currently developing three new innovations for 2025. These include a circular web knitting spacer fabric, a fully electronic rushing machine, and new knitting systems designed for compostable and sustainable yarns.
Valenti RIUS:
a long-time member of the RIUS team, reflected on the company’s evolution: “We started by producing traditional textile machinery, but today our technologies support highly technical processes — including machines for fruit packing nets, medical bandages, trimmings, and Russian knitting applications.
RIUS now operates across five continents and exports to over 120 countries, with 95% of its production reaching international markets. The company began exporting in the late 1970s and has grown into a global player in specialized textile machinery.
Sustainability and adaptability are at the core of RIUS’s industrial philosophy. “We design our machines with circular economy principles in mind,” said Rius. “Our aim is to make them reusable and help our customers manufacture compostable products.
Facing future industry challenges, the company is investing heavily in digitalization and Industry 4.0 to remain competitive and serve clients more effectively. “Innovation is a daily effort here,” added Rius. “It’s how we stay ready for new market needs and support a sustainable textile future.
