Spanish textile machinery and technology suppliers reinforced their presence in North Africa at Egypt Stitch & Tex 2026, with six companies exhibiting collectively through the amec amtex pavilion in Cairo.
The participation brought together Magombelt, Hetex Jacquard, Tacome, ICOMATEX, Assessors del Ram d’Aigua, S.A. (ADRASA) and Arque, giving Egyptian textile manufacturers an opportunity to explore specialised Spanish technologies and establish direct connections with their suppliers.
Six Companies Join the amec amtex Pavilion
The amec amtex pavilion provided a shared platform for the participating companies to introduce their technologies to Egypt’s expanding textile industry.
The six exhibitors represented different areas of textile machinery, components and production technology:
- Magombelt
- Hetex Jacquard
- Tacome
- ICOMATEX
- Assessors del Ram d’Aigua, S.A. (ADRASA)
- Arque
By exhibiting under a national industry pavilion, the companies were able to present the diversity of Spain’s textile machinery sector while jointly exploring commercial and technological opportunities in Egypt.
Spanish textile machinery manufacturers are particularly recognised for operating in specialised market segments and developing solutions around individual customer and production requirements. Their flexibility and project-oriented approach can be valuable in markets such as Egypt, where textile companies range from established domestic manufacturers to newly arriving international investors.
Spanish Presence Extends Beyond the Pavilion
Spain’s representation at Egypt Stitch & Tex 2026 was not limited to the amec amtex pavilion.
Other Spanish technology companies also participated through local agents and representatives. Among them was EAS | Escarré Automatización y Servicios, S.L., a Barcelona-headquartered company specialising in industrial automation and production-management solutions.
The wider participation demonstrated the importance Spanish suppliers place on maintaining local representation and technical support in Egypt. For textile manufacturers, access to local partners can be essential when selecting technology, installing equipment and obtaining after-sales assistance.
Egypt has been attracting increased attention from international textile machinery companies as domestic manufacturers modernise production and foreign investors establish new operations. The country’s labour availability, production costs, geographical position and access to export markets have strengthened its appeal as a textile and garment manufacturing location.
Against this background, Egypt Stitch & Tex offered Spanish companies a platform to meet existing customers, identify new projects and evaluate the changing requirements of the Egyptian textile industry.
The collective participation through amec amtex also highlighted Spain’s intention to strengthen its position in Egypt and the wider North African textile market. As manufacturers place greater emphasis on automation, efficiency, product quality and specialised production, Spanish technology suppliers see opportunities to contribute to the next phase of the region’s industrial development.
