Özlü Engineering Targets Cleaner Textile Finishing in Egypt

Rising energy costs and evolving industrial regulations are increasing demand for cleaner and more efficient textile finishing technologies in Egypt, according to Kağan Özlü from the Sales Department of Özlü Mühendislik.

Speaking with Kohan Textile Journal during Egypt Stitch & Tex 2026 in Cairo, Özlü discussed the company’s electrostatic filtration systems for stenter machines, its energy and water recovery projects, and its recently established cooperation with Nobeltex in the Egyptian market.

Kağan Özlü on Stenter Filtration and Energy Recovery

Could you introduce Özlü Mühendislik and its principal technologies?

I am Kağan Özlü from Özlü Mühendislik, also known internationally as Özlü Engineering. We are based in Bursa, Türkiye.

Our company manufactures electrostatic filtration systems for stenter machines. We also undertake energy and water recovery projects for textile manufacturers in different markets around the world.

Our technologies are manufactured in Türkiye, and we are looking forward to expanding our business and completing new projects in Egypt.

How do your electrostatic filtration systems support textile manufacturers?

Smoke released from stenter machines is one of the environmental and operational challenges associated with textile finishing.

Our electrostatic filtration systems are designed to clean this exhaust air by removing smoke generated during the stenter process. At the same time, the system can recover heat and return usable energy to the factory.

The main objective is therefore to combine cleaner air with energy recovery. This helps textile manufacturers improve the environmental conditions surrounding production while making better use of heat that would otherwise leave the factory through the exhaust system.

Why is heat recovery becoming important for textile finishing plants?

Stenter machines require considerable thermal energy during fabric-drying and finishing operations. When heated exhaust air is released directly, part of that energy leaves the production process.

Our recovery projects are designed to capture useful heat and transfer it back to the factory. The precise application depends on the mill, its machinery and its production conditions.

As energy prices increase, manufacturers are paying greater attention to technologies that can improve how energy is used throughout the production process.

Energy Costs Create New Opportunities in Egypt

How do you assess the Egyptian textile market?

Egypt is an important and promising market, particularly for textiles and other manufacturing industries.

Because our principal focus is energy and energy recovery, we are closely following changes in Egyptian energy prices and industrial regulations. These developments are increasing interest in technologies that can reduce waste, recover heat and support cleaner production.

We believe these market conditions will create new opportunities for Özlü Mühendislik in Egypt. The arrival of investments from Türkiye, China and other countries also demonstrates the market’s potential.

We have confidence in Egypt’s future and look forward to working with textile manufacturers seeking to improve energy management and control emissions from finishing operations.

How could regulatory developments influence technology investment?

As environmental and energy-related requirements develop, textile factories will need to examine how their production systems affect energy consumption and exhaust-air quality.

This can accelerate demand for filtration and recovery technologies. Manufacturers may increasingly evaluate not only the production capacity of a stenter but also how its exhaust is treated and whether heat can be recovered for reuse.

For technology suppliers, this creates opportunities to work with mills on solutions tailored to their existing machinery and factory infrastructure.

How would you describe your cooperation with Nobeltex?

We began working with Nobeltex at the beginning of summer 2026. Although the cooperation is still relatively new, we have already accomplished a great deal together.

Nobeltex has a strong position and extensive connections in the Egyptian textile market. The relationship is based on mutual trust, and we have already worked on projects together.

We look forward to developing this cooperation further and creating new business opportunities in Egypt.

What is Özlü Mühendislik’s main objective in the Egyptian market?

Our objective is to help textile finishing companies address two connected priorities: cleaning the exhaust air generated by stenter machines and recovering useful energy for reuse inside the factory.

Cleaner air supports a more environmentally responsible production process, while heat recovery can help manufacturers manage energy more efficiently.

We believe these technologies will become increasingly relevant as Egyptian textile companies modernise their plants and respond to changing production costs and regulatory expectations.

Editor’s Note

This interview was conducted by Kohan Textile Journal during Egypt Stitch & Tex 2026 in Cairo. The conversation highlights the growing connection between emissions control and energy efficiency in textile finishing, where stenter exhaust filtration can be combined with heat recovery to support cleaner production.
