Welspun Living Strengthens Global Brand with Wimbledon Partnership

Welspun Living Ltd is reinforcing its position in the global home textiles market by combining premium branding, manufacturing excellence, and sustainability, with its long-standing association with The Championships, Wimbledon continuing to highlight India’s textile manufacturing capabilities on the international stage.

The company, part of the $3.6 billion Welspun Group, supplies products to more than 60 countries and remains one of the world’s leading manufacturers of home textile products.

Iconic Wimbledon Towels Made in India

Welspun’s connection with Wimbledon comes through Christy, the British heritage brand that has served as the official towel supplier to the prestigious tennis tournament since 1988.

Following Welspun’s acquisition of Christy in 2006, production of the tournament’s iconic towels was shifted to the company’s manufacturing facility in Vapi, Gujarat, where they are produced for professional players and tennis fans worldwide.
The partnership has helped showcase India’s textile manufacturing expertise on one of the world’s most recognized sporting events.

Global Leadership in Home Textiles

Welspun Living has established itself as one of the world’s leading home textile manufacturers through vertically integrated production facilities and long-term partnerships with major international retailers.

The company holds the No. 1 global position in towels and bath rugs while ranking among the top two producers worldwide in bed sheets. Its portfolio includes home textiles, advanced textiles, and flooring solutions under brands including Christy, welhome, and SPACES.

Innovation and Sustainability Drive Growth

Innovation remains a key pillar of Welspun’s strategy, with the company holding 50 global patents across its businesses.
Welspun also reported an S&P Global ESG Score of 90/100, reflecting its focus on environmental, social, and governance performance. The company employs more than 24,000 people, with women representing approximately 28% of its workforce.

Branded Business Continues to Expand

Branded products contributed around 19% of Welspun’s total revenue in FY2026.
The company’s luxury Christy brand recorded 15% growth, while premium brand welhome generated $19.4 million in revenue. In India, the Welspun brand continues expanding its retail footprint, now reaching more than 20,000 stores nationwide.

Navigating a Challenging Market

Despite maintaining its global leadership, Welspun experienced a softer financial performance during FY2026.
Total income declined 11.5% year-on-year to ₹9,467.9 crore, while EBITDA reached ₹862 crore, resulting in an EBITDA margin of 9.1%. Profit after tax stood at ₹204.4 crore.

Home Textiles B2B remained the company’s largest business segment, accounting for approximately 70% of total revenue, while emerging businesses, innovation-focused products, and branded sales continued to support long-term diversification.
