Turkish value-added yarn manufacturer Omafil has inaugurated a new production facility in the Erbaa Organized Industrial Zone, expanding its manufacturing capacity and strengthening Türkiye’s synthetic yarn industry. The new investment will produce 9,000 tons of Partially Oriented Yarn (POY) and 3,000 tons of Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY) annually while creating approximately 300 new jobs.
New Facility Expands POY and FDY Production Capacity
The new plant represents a significant milestone in Omafil’s growth strategy and will support the increasing demand for high-quality synthetic yarns used in socks, narrow fabrics, medical textiles, and seamless apparel manufacturing.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Orhan Aydın said the company aims to strengthen both domestic supply and international competitiveness.
“With the POY and FDY yarns we produce today, we aim not only to meet the needs of the domestic market but also to become a major player in global markets,” Aydın said.
He added that Omafil will continue investing in value-added production to enhance the global position of the Turkish textile industry.
Building on a Decade of Investment
Omafil established its first production facility in 2013, operating from a 9,000-square-meter manufacturing site dedicated to elastane-blended spun yarn production. In 2021, the company announced plans to significantly expand its operations through the construction of a new 50,000-square-meter manufacturing facility, culminating in the inauguration of the new plant.
The latest investment further strengthens Omafil’s position in Türkiye’s growing synthetic yarn market while supporting employment and industrial development in the Tokat region.
