In a significant move to strengthen bilateral textile cooperation, a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Akobir Tukhtaev, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, held fruitful negotiations with the leadership of Yunus Textile Mills, one of Pakistan’s foremost textile manufacturers.
Founded in 1983 and part of the Taba Group, Yunus Textile Mills is a private, family-owned enterprise known for its robust, export-oriented operations. The company runs a fully integrated production cycle—from yarn spinning to finished home textile products—and boasts a daily output of 500,000 square meters and annual production of 180 million square meters. Employing around 10,000 workers, Yunus leverages cutting-edge technologies from Europe and Japan, ensuring world-class efficiency and quality.
The company specializes in home textiles, including blankets, bed sheets, curtains, towels, and tablecloths, and holds more than 25 international certifications affirming its compliance with global standards.
During the meeting, the Uzbek side proposed establishing a joint textile production facility in Uzbekistan by reviving underutilized or idle textile plants. Yunus Textile Mills expressed strong interest and confirmed plans for an official visit to Uzbekistan to further assess the feasibility of this collaboration.
The talks concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which establishes a legal and strategic framework for future joint textile projects between Uzbekistan and Yunus Textile Mills. The initiative aligns with Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment and revive its textile sector through technology transfer and international partnerships.
