The 30th anniversary exhibition season of Iteca Exhibitions, branded as Global Textile Days, officially opens today at the Uzexpocentre NEC in Tashkent. The highly anticipated event brings together more than 250 companies from 22 countries, reaffirming Uzbekistan’s role as a rising hub in the global textile sector.
This year’s program includes two flagship exhibitions: the 16th Central Asian International Exhibition of Equipment and Technologies for the Textile and Garment-Knitwear Industry (CAITME) and the 25th anniversary International Textile and Garment Industry Exhibition (Textile Expo Uzbekistan). Alongside the exhibitions, participants will engage in a rich business program featuring B2B meetings, presentations, and discussions on the future of the textile industry. The event is organized by Iteca Exhibitions in partnership with ICA Eurasia Group.
Textile Industry in Focus
Textiles have always been more than just products – they mirror the technological progress, social structures, and cultural identity of civilizations. Today, advanced textile equipment continues to be the foundation of industrial development, enabling the production of fabrics, knitwear, and nonwovens that serve both consumer and industrial markets.
Organizers emphasized that modern textile machinery not only increases production capacity but also drives economic development and strengthens national competitiveness. Uzbekistan, they noted, is strategically advancing its textile industry with strong government support.
Strategic Reforms and Growth
Recent initiatives underscore the government’s commitment to transforming the sector. The establishment of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry, backed by a $200 million fund, and the launch of the President’s “100 Impact Days” program, are expected to accelerate alignment with international standards, boost exports, and create new employment opportunities.
“Global Textile Days provides manufacturers with a unique opportunity to study new trends, see the latest equipment in action, and establish business connections that can expand their markets,” said the organizers at a pre-event press briefing.
Gateway to New Partnerships
Over the years, Uzbekistan’s textile exhibitions have proven to be a gateway for global machinery manufacturers entering the market. Many of today’s industry leaders first introduced their innovations at these events before building partnerships, launching joint production projects, and investing locally.
This year’s edition is expected to continue that legacy by offering domestic producers fresh opportunities to expand internationally, enhance product competitiveness, and attract long-term investment.
