Trade relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation are advancing to a new level with a focus on improving customs administration and declaration procedures for Turkmen textiles — one of the country’s key export commodities.
Streamlining Trade and Enhancing Transparency
A working meeting was held at the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of the Russian Federation, bringing together FCS officials and representatives of Russian importing companies that specialize in high-quality Turkmen textiles.
Discussions emphasized the strategic significance of Turkmen textile products in the Russian market and both sides’ commitment to simplifying trade operations. Concrete steps were agreed upon to optimize import processes and facilitate smoother cross-border transactions.
The FCS invited importing companies to submit detailed proposals aimed at improving customs clearance practices. These suggestions will be thoroughly analyzed and integrated into future cooperation between the Federal Customs Service of Russia and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
This collaborative approach reflects a strong spirit of constructive dialogue and a shared goal of eliminating trade barriers. Active engagement with the private sector is expected to foster favorable, transparent, and long-term conditions for Turkmen textile exports in the Russian market.
