The press conference of the 2nd Artificial Intelligence on Fashion and Textile International Conference (AIFT 2019), which is organised by the International Exhibition on Textile Industry (ShanghaiTex) and the Institute of Textiles & Clothing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, was held yesterday (31 Jul 2019) at the Shanghai Fashion Centre, launching the details of AIFT 2019 and their long-term cooperation.
The organisers of ShanghaiTex 2019 (Shanghai Textile Technology Service & Exhibition Co., Ltd., Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd. and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd.) and the Institute of Textiles & Clothing, Hong Kong Polytechnic University signed the cooperation agreement.
Prof. Calvin Wong, Cheng Yik Hung Professor in Fashion at the Institute of Textiles and Clothing, Hong Kong Polytechnic University announced that AIFT will develop a long-term cooperation with ShanghaiTex 2019, with a forecast that the opening day of AIFT 2019 will establish tan Artificial Intelligence Alliance with a number of institutions.
Representative of ShanghaiTex 2019 delivered her speech, introducing the newly-launched concurrent event of ShanghaiTex, “Textech Galaxy”. Passionately focused on innovation at the intersection of textiles, fashion and technology, “Textech Galaxy” is also an international meeting place for people who are interested in exploring textile and fashion future possibilities. Series events will explore how new technologies innovating different categories in the fashion industry, focusing on AI, Startup and Wearable Tech.
