The sixth meeting of the Iran–Qatar Joint Economic Committee is currently underway in Doha, according to a report by IRNA on Sunday. This renewed engagement marks an important step in strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
Reviving Economic Dialogue After 13 Years
A 70-member delegation of Iranian traders and business leaders, led by Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Mohammadreza Fayyaz, arrived in Doha on Sunday to participate in the two-day summit. The meeting aims to deepen collaboration across key sectors, enhance trade exchanges, and open new avenues for investment.
This latest session holds particular significance, as the previous Joint Economic Committee meeting between Iran and Qatar was held nearly 13 years ago. The revival of this platform reflects a mutual desire to enhance economic synergy and address shared commercial priorities.
Both sides are expected to discuss trade facilitation, industrial cooperation, transportation links, and potential partnerships that could support long-term economic growth for both nations.
