Brückner at Colombiatex 2026: “We remain confident and positive”

By: Behnam Ghasemi – Editor in Chief at kohan Textile Journal

Brückner Textile Technologies reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Latin American textile market during Colombiatex 2026, one of the region’s most important textile and apparel exhibitions, held from January 27 to 29 in Medellín.

Brückner Reinforces Its Commitment to Latin America at Colombiatex 2026

Speaking to Kohan Textile Journal during the exhibition, Benjamin Schnabel, Area Sales Manager South America at Brückner, highlighted the strategic importance of Colombiatex and Colombia’s role within the regional textile value chain.

“Colombiatex is an essential annual event for us,” Schnabel said. “Colombia is a very important market, particularly in segments such as sportswear, swimwear and lingerie. In addition, the exhibition attracts visitors and exhibitors from many neighboring countries, making it a key meeting point for the entire Latin American textile industry.”

Navigating Political Change with Market Resilience

Addressing the broader political and economic landscape in South America, Schnabel emphasized the region’s resilience amid ongoing change.

“The political situation in Latin America is constantly evolving, and companies here are accustomed to dealing with change,” he explained. “Businesses are prepared, they know how to react, and they are not afraid of shifting political dynamics. This adaptability is a strength of the region.”

Strong Demand for Proven Finishing Technologies

Brückner’s extensive portfolio of textile finishing machinery continues to find strong demand across South America, with particular interest in the company’s flagship solutions.

“Our most important product remains the stenter frame, which is still the backbone of many finishing operations,” Schnabel noted. “At the same time, we are seeing growing interest in our new relax dryers, especially as more companies in the region work with circular and tubular knitted fabrics. This technology allows us to offer tailored solutions for evolving production needs.”

Competing on Quality, Service and Long-Term Reliability

While acknowledging increasing competition from machinery suppliers in China, India and Turkey, Schnabel underlined Brückner’s confidence in its market position.

“There is certainly more competition today, particularly from Asian suppliers,” he said. “However, Brückner delivers complete finishing lines and large-scale systems. These are major long-term investments, and customers are understandably cautious. They look for proven technology, reliable service and strong local support.”

According to Schnabel, while low-cost machinery may be attractive for smaller, easily replaceable equipment, major finishing lines require trust, experience and long-term partnership—areas where Brückner continues to differentiate itself.

Positive Outlook for the Region

Looking ahead, Schnabel expressed optimism about Brückner’s prospects in Latin America.

“We remain confident and positive,” he concluded. “Latin America continues to invest in textile manufacturing, and Brückner is well positioned to support customers with advanced, reliable and future-oriented finishing solutions.”
