Within the framework of strengthening international partnerships, Mr. Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), welcomed H.E. Mr. Miguel Allamán Ortiaga, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru in Cairo, at SCZONE’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was attended by the Chairman’s Advisor for International Relations and focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and identifying new investment opportunities across SCZONE’s industrial zones, logistics centers, and affiliated seaports.
During the talks, Mr. Gamal El-Dien highlighted SCZONE’s diverse investment portfolio, which spans 21 industrial and logistical sectors, and emphasized the zone’s strategic model that integrates six seaports on the Mediterranean and Red Seas with fully developed industrial zones. This integration, he noted, enables seamless connectivity between manufacturing and global markets, positioning SCZONE as a world-class hub for trade and production. He also expressed strong interest in fostering partnerships with Peruvian companies and ports, particularly in industries of mutual interest.
For his part, Ambassador Allamán Ortiaga praised SCZONE’s role as a leading regional gateway linking global trade routes, underlining Peru’s keenness to establish closer ties with Egypt through SCZONE. He stressed Peru’s readiness to collaborate in sectors such as food manufacturing, a cornerstone of the Peruvian economy, as well as in ports development, logistics services, and knowledge exchange, with the aim of opening new markets and boosting bilateral trade.
The meeting reflects both parties’ commitment to deepening economic cooperation, creating new opportunities for investment, and strengthening ties between Egypt and Peru in support of sustainable development and global market integration.
