Functional Fabric Fair Opens Registration for Fall 2025 Edition in Portland

Registration is now open for the Fall 2025 Functional Fabric Fair powered by Performance Days, set to take place in Portland this November. The event kicks off with the Day 0 Sustainability Workshop on 11 November, followed by two days of exhibits and Expert Talks on 12–13 November at the Oregon Convention Center.

“Functional Fabric Fair continues to grow each year as the essential sourcing and education platform for the performance and outdoor textile industry,” said Steve McCullough, Event Vice President. “This fall, attendees will experience more exhibitors, more innovation, and more opportunities to connect with leaders driving the future of sustainable textiles.”

This year’s edition will spotlight textile-to-textile recycling, highlighting recyclers’ critical role in advancing circular textile systems. With Extended Producer Responsibility regulations progressing globally, textile-to-textile recycling is gaining traction as a solution that maintains material quality while enabling new garments to be made from old textiles.

Europe currently leads developments with collection mandates, sorting innovations, digital product passports and expanded recycling infrastructure.

Another highlight is the Portland debut of the Future Fabrics Expo Innovation Hub, featuring next-generation materials. More than 300 sustainable-certified suppliers will showcase functional fabrics, finishes, trims and accessories for Autumn/Winter 2026/2027. Visitors can also explore curated sourcing zones, trend forums, live demonstrations, networking opportunities and discovery areas such as the Cotton Forum and Wool Forum.

The Day 0 Sustainability Workshop will feature industry leaders including Jill Dumain of Fractal CSOs, Todd Copeland of Copeland Consultancy LLC, and Kevin Myette of bluesign technologies. Sessions will provide practical strategies, real-world case studies and interactive roundtable discussions.

Functional Fabric Fair is free to attend for verified designers, product developers, purchasing agents, material managers and students in the outdoor, performance and lifestyle apparel sectors. Separate registration is required for the Day 0 Sustainability Workshop, with limited seating available.
