ATAG EGY Announces Strong New Contracts and Expanding Market Demand

Singapore — ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025 witnessed a powerful statement of confidence from ATAG EGY, as Managing Director Aly Nagy confirmed new strategic contracts and rising global demand for open-end yarn driven by changing fashion trends.

“We are very excited to be back in Singapore,” said Nagy. “The quality of the suppliers at this show is outstanding — and what surprised us even more is the high quality of visitors. We are meeting decision-makers.”

ATAG EGY highlighted the success of Saurer’s latest spinning technologies, specifically the Autocoro 11, which is rapidly transforming denim yarn production.

Autocoro 11 is now dominating the market for the new generation of open-end yarn,” Nagy explained. “Today, almost 50% of denim yarn used in loose-fit jeans is back to open-end — and with Autocoro 11 you can hardly see splicing in the yarn. This is new, this is fashion, and the market loves it.”

The shift in denim design — from tight-fit jeans back to loose silhouettes — is accelerating demand for open-end technology. Autocoro 11’s ability to produce smooth, splice-free yarn gives manufacturers both efficiency and fashion-driven advantages.

New Contracts Secured — Egypt Leads the Momentum

During the Singapore exhibition, ATAG EGY signed a major contract for Egypt, with machine supply already scheduled before the end of this year. Nagy emphasized that demand is not limited to open-end spinning:

“For ring frame and roving, we also secured new contracts. We expect even more growth in 2026.”

ATAG EGY’s expansion aligns with Egypt’s rapidly growing textile investments, supported by strong demand from both local and export-focused mills.
