AMEC (AsociaciĂłn Multisectorial de Empresas), the leading Spanish association representing industrial manufacturers across nine key sectors including textile machinery, has taken another important step in strengthening its international presence through a high-level meeting with the Indian Consul in Barcelona.
Founded in 1969, AMEC represents more than 350 member companies from Spain’s most competitive industrial sectors—ranging from packaging and food processing machinery to smart city solutions and textile machinery through its specialized division, AMEC AMTEX. The association plays an essential role as Spain’s industrial ambassador, promoting innovation, sustainability, and technological excellence in global markets.
During the recent meeting, both sides highlighted the growing importance of India as a strategic partner for European industries. With industrial growth exceeding 9% annually and a dynamic policy of attracting foreign investment, India stands as one of the most promising destinations for collaboration, technology exchange, and manufacturing expansion.
“We are identifying India as a key market for the coming decade,” noted AMEC representatives. “Our dialogue with the Consul focused on the future of industry, investment facilitation, and the forthcoming India Plan 2026, a strategic initiative by AMEC designed to support Spanish companies at every stage—from initial onboarding to full market establishment.”
The discussion also addressed practical challenges such as visa facilitation for business representatives, which play a crucial role in boosting trade missions and B2B engagement. In addition, both parties laid the groundwork for an upcoming session with an Indian state delegation actively promoting industrial policies aligned with AMEC’s sectors of focus.
Through this renewed cooperation, AMEC aims to deepen Spain–India industrial relations, fostering partnerships that will accelerate innovation and mutual growth. The association’s amec amtex division will continue to champion Spanish textile technology in India and other emerging textile markets, reinforcing Spain’s position as a trusted source of advanced and sustainable manufacturing solutions.
