The Turkish textile industry recorded $7.05 billion in exports during the first nine months of 2025, marking a modest 0.5% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (ITHIB).
Between January and September, Turkish producers exported 1.87 million tons of textile products to 199 countries and free zones, reaffirming Türkiye’s position as one of the world’s leading textile exporters.
The European Union remained Türkiye’s largest market with $2.67 billion in exports, while Africa emerged as the fastest-growing region, registering a 16.5% increase to reach $1.09 billion in export value.
Top Destinations and Product Categories
Italy ranked as the top export destination with $564 million, followed by Egypt ($411 million) and Spain ($388 million).
In terms of product groups, fabrics dominated Türkiye’s textile exports, contributing $4.38 billion, followed by yarn at $1.8 billion and fiber at $873 million.
Istanbul Leads the Way
Among exporting provinces, Istanbul maintained its lead with $2.77 billion in textile exports. It was followed by Gaziantep ($1.16 billion) and Bursa ($910 million), highlighting the strong regional contribution to the country’s textile economy.
Industry Outlook
Ahmet Öksüz, Chairman of ITHIB, praised the resilience of Türkiye’s textile manufacturers, noting that the sector continues to demonstrate determination and competitiveness despite global market uncertainties.
He emphasized that innovation, quality production, and strong export performance remain the key drivers of the Turkish textile industry’s long-term sustainability and global success.
