Tunicotex Group: Where Italian Style Meets Sustainable Innovation in Knitwear

Tunicotex Group, a pioneering force in the global knitwear industry, continues to raise the bar for sustainable fashion with its certified, traceable, and eco-conscious production model. Based in Tunisia and founded by an Italian family with deep roots in knitwear manufacturing, Tunicotex has grown from a small operation into one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-quality knitwear products.

Certified, Responsible, and Fully Traceable Production

At the heart of Tunicotex’s ethos lies a strong commitment to environmental and social responsibility. With 95% of its raw materials certified by globally recognized standards such as GOTS, GRS, and FSC, the company ensures that each piece of knitwear is made with integrity from the first thread to the final garment.

From recycled fibers to ethical, low-impact practices, Tunicotex offers a fully traceable supply chain—allowing global fashion brands to source consciously and transparently. The company’s extensive product portfolio includes sweaters, cardigans, dresses, hoodies, leggings, accessories, and more—crafted in gauges ranging from 18 to 3, all with Italian design flair.

Green Impact: Renewable Energy and Sustainability Milestones

Sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s embedded in Tunicotex’s DNA. In early 2025, the company inaugurated its solar power plant, which has already prevented over 650 tons of COâ‚‚ emissions. Looking forward, Tunicotex plans to run entirely on renewable energy by 2026, reinforcing its commitment to the planet and future generations.

Beyond energy, the company also invests in water recovery systems, energy efficiency programs, and circular economy initiatives—positioning itself as a model of responsible manufacturing in the Mediterranean region.

A Legacy of Growth, Style, and Innovation

Founded in 1993 by Mr. Giorgio Capanna and Mrs. Anna Mascheri, Tunicotex started as a small factory with a few machines and a clear vision: to blend Italian craftsmanship with Tunisia’s strategic location and skilled workforce. Since then, the company has grown exponentially, culminating in the establishment of a state-of-the-art industrial facility on a 50,000 square meter site in Soliman in 2010.

Today, Tunicotex is a trusted supplier for the world’s most prestigious premium fashion brands. Its continuous investment in R&D, smart technology, and product development has enabled it to stay ahead in a competitive market while maintaining its values of quality, responsibility, and innovation.

The Future of Knitwear Is Green

With a passionate and dynamic team, a strong foundation in Italian design, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Tunicotex Group exemplifies what modern textile manufacturing should be—responsible, innovative, and stylish.
