Tèxtils.CAT Explores Business Opportunities in Saudi Arabia

Tèxtils.CAT organized a cluster exploratory mission to Saudi Arabia from February 24-27, 2025, as part of the xBUILD-EU project, funded by the European Commission. The mission aimed to explore business opportunities, foster synergies, and exchange knowledge in the textile, construction, and advanced manufacturing sectors, particularly in Riyadh.

Strengthening Industry Partnerships

During the four-day mission, the xBUILD-EU delegation engaged with key innovation stakeholders to understand Saudi Arabia’s growing focus on digitalization and industrial expansion. The mission highlighted the country’s strong support for on-site manufacturing investments and business collaborations.

The delegation met with representatives from:

  • Hub5 Consulting
  • King Saud University
  • Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce & Industry
  • Saudi Fashion Commission
  • Big 5 Trade Fair (a leading construction industry exhibition)

These engagements provided valuable insights into Saudi Arabia’s industrial landscape, sustainability trends, and transformative Vision 2030 GIGA-projects.

Exploring EU-Saudi Industrial Collaborations

The mission helped Tèxtils.CAT assess potential synergies for future EU-Saudi industrial partnerships. The cluster’s internationalization strategy focuses on:

  • Expanding global market access for its members.
  • Enhancing competitiveness of Catalan textile firms.
  • Strengthening global visibility through key trade events.

The xBUILD-EU project plays a vital role in reinforcing connections with Saudi stakeholders while offering financial support for Catalan SMEs to explore Middle Eastern market opportunities.
