The European fashion and textile sector is gearing up for one of its most comprehensive industry gatherings yet. From 2–3 September 2025, MUNICH FABRIC START will, for the first time, host its flagship formats BLUEZONE, KEYHOUSE, and THE SOURCE together under one roof at the MOC Munich — delivering a consolidated “show-in-show” concept that promises to streamline sourcing and spark cross-sector innovation.
Global Showcase of Fabrics and Accessories
Around 1,200 collections from approximately 600 international exhibitors will be on display, reflecting the event’s key themes of internationality, collaboration, and sustainability. The line-up spans fabrics, accessories, equipment, and sourcing, providing a one-stop destination for designers, product managers, and brand executives.
Trend inspiration will be guided by two forward-looking concepts: “Right Here Right Now” and “Nexus” — setting the colour and material direction for Autumn/Winter 2026/27.
“MUNICH FABRIC START stands for diversity and quality at the highest level. This deeper integration of formats ensures inspiration and progress become the standard, creating real momentum for the sector,” said Florian Klinder, Managing Director, MUNICH FABRIC START.
International Collaboration in Focus
This edition’s global focus is underscored by initiatives such as GIZ’s “Sourcing in Africa” roadshow, which will feature 10 companies from Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Morocco, and Senegal alongside key industry associations. The CBI (Netherlands) will present fabric and apparel collections developed under its “Egypt Textiles in Transition” programme. Italy’s Manifattura Italia will spotlight local production excellence across the full value chain.
Innovation Through Partnerships
Collaborative projects will again take centre stage. The Sigmaringen Fashion School will run a live upcycling lab using high-tech embroidery, while The Fabric Connector pilot in the RESOURCE Area will support sustainable sourcing decisions. BIOTEXFUTURE will present bio-based and recyclable material innovations in partnership with leading brands like adidas and Falke.
New Materials and Market-Ready Concepts
Innovations include Smartcel antibacterial, UV-protective textiles, Seacell biodegradable seaweed fibre, and Bloomati smart textures. Studio 9 will launch NFC/QR-enabled trims for supply chain transparency. Sustainable fibre developments from orange, mint, and pineapple will be presented alongside bold new print and colour concepts.
BLUEZONE & KEYHOUSE Highlights
Relocated to Hall 2 for greater visibility, BLUEZONE will spotlight “Nexus”, celebrating collaboration and denim heritage through the HOMEGROWN DENIM LEGENDS project. Notable exhibitors include Tejidos Royo with 100% recycled cotton DRY Indigo® fabrics, Calik Denim, and ISKO RECODE Denim.
KEYHOUSE, themed “TECHKNOWLEDGE”, will feature biodegradable high-abrasion fabrics, molecular recycling breakthroughs, and advanced colour and printing technologies from innovators such as Emtec, Coloro, and Kornit Digital.
The SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS forum, curated by Simon Angel, will showcase experimental concepts like energy-generating textiles, plant-based faux fur, and bio-based material alternatives.
Strong Exhibitor Mix
The exhibitor roster combines returning favourites with new entrants across FABRICS, ADDITIONALS, BLUEZONE, and THE SOURCE — including brands from Africa, Asia, and Europe, reinforcing the show’s global sourcing credentials.
