KCG Textile Expands Operations in Egypt with $24 Million Investment and New Factory

KCG Textile, a subsidiary of Turkey’s Küçükçalık Group, marked a major milestone in its ongoing expansion in Egypt by breaking ground on a new factory in the 10th of Ramadan Industrial Zone. Established in 2007 and operating in Egypt since 2008, the company is set to boost its total investment in the country to over $89 million.

The new facility, backed by an additional $24 million investment, is expected to create 500 new jobs, increasing the company’s local workforce to 2,300. KCG Textile already employs 1,800 people in its existing operations.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Yılmaz Küçükçalık, owner of Küçükçalık Group; Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Investment Hassan el-Hatib; President of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Husam Heyba; and Turkish Ambassador to Cairo Salih Mutlu Şen.

With its growing presence in Egypt, KCG Textile is aiming to reach $100 million in annual exports. The company currently supplies renowned international brands and exports to various global markets. Its product portfolio includes a wide range of home textiles such as curtains, bedding, decorative pillowcases, tablecloths, upholstery fabrics, shower curtains, and garment fabrics. It also maintains sales offices in the US, UK, China, Türkiye, and Egypt.

During the ceremony, Turkish Ambassador Şen praised the strong economic ties between Türkiye and Egypt. “Turkish investments in Egypt are a natural outcome of our geographical, cultural, and social proximity. Our cooperation is based on a win-win model, and we expect Turkish investments and trade relations to continue growing,” he stated. Şen also highlighted the significance of free trade agreements and transportation infrastructure in enhancing bilateral trade.

Egyptian Minister Hassan el-Hatib echoed similar sentiments, noting that “Turkish companies stand out in quality production in Egypt,” and welcomed continued collaboration that brings development and employment opportunities to the region.

Spanning 200,000 square meters, KCG Textile’s Egyptian operations reinforce the country’s position as a key manufacturing and export hub for home textiles in the region.
