While the spandex content within a diaper is relatively small (about 2%), it is the key ingredient to product comfort.

Expanded diaper spandex production in India and Turkiye
Hyosung has expanded its production region for diaper spandex, which was previously produced only in factories located in Gumi, South Korea, and Zhuhai and Jiangxi, China, to include its facilities in India and Turkiye. This expansion comes in response to increased demand from global customers for stable supply networks in local or nearby regions, Hyosung plans to increase the spandex production capacity of diaper spandex to 11,000 tons by 2026 in its production facilities in India and Turkiye.
“Expanding our supply chain will strengthen our global market position,” said Hyunho Lee, Hyosung’s executive in charge of global diaper sales. “In the fast-growing diaper spandex market, we aim to enhance dominance through a stable supply and optimized quality.”
Hyosung’s expanded facilities will enable faster production and supply, ensuring a swift response to market demands while strengthening market dominance through cost savings on logistics, tariffs, and other expenses.
CIDPEX 2025
CIDPEX is the world’s largest global exhibition for tissue paper and disposable hygiene products industry. The exhibition showcases the entire industry supply chain to include household and hygiene products, materials, machinery and equipment providing a one-stop trade consultation platform. The 2025 event will feature over 900 domestic and international exhibitors spanning 12 halls.
