The Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association (EHKİB) has announced plans to participate in six trade fairs across four countries in 2025 as part of its strategy to maintain export levels and strengthen global connections.
Under Türkiye’s National Participation Organization, EHKİB will bring together eight Turkish companies at the Munich Fabric Start Fair, Germany’s leading textile and apparel exhibition, on September 2–3, 2025. The event is expected to create new export opportunities, followed by participation in PV Manufacturing Paris on September 16–18, 2025, with 19 Turkish companies.
Burak Sertbaş, Chairman of EHKİB, highlighted that the Turkish ready-to-wear sector recorded $9.7 billion in exports between January and July 2025, with Germany alone accounting for 18% ($1.7 billion). However, the industry has seen a $5 billion decline in exports since 2022 and a sharp drop in the number of exporting companies.
“We are going through a period in which more aggressive marketing is required,” Sertbaş stated, noting that recovery in apparel exports is not expected until 2026.
He emphasized that trade fairs remain the most effective platform to attract new customers, particularly during Europe’s prolonged stagnation and rising global uncertainty.
Tala Uğuz, EHKİB Board Member and Chair of the Committee for Developing Foreign Market Strategies, added that 140 companies from Türkiye’s textile and apparel sector will showcase their collections at the Munich event.
EHKİB’s international program for 2025 will conclude with Fashion London SVP in November, bringing the total participation to 90 Turkish exporters across the six fairs.
Participating Aegean companies at the September Munich Fabric Start Fair include:
GOUTEX SOURCING TEKS., İYA TEKSTİL, KARA MODA TEKS., MEBA GİYİM, NURTEKS KONF., ORIMPEX TEKSTİL, TAYRA TEKSTİL, and UNITY TEKSTİL.
