The Turkish ready-to-wear sector has set its sights on $1 billion in exports to the US by the end of 2025, building on the $856 million achieved in 2024. Industry leaders see an opportunity to strengthen their foothold in the American market amid the US’s high tariffs on Chinese goods.
Return to PV Manufacturing New York After Two Years
The Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association (EHKİB) made a strong comeback to the PV Manufacturing New York Fair on July 15–16, 2025, with 12 participating companies after a two-year hiatus. EHKİB President Burak Sertbaş stressed the strategic need to maintain a long-term presence in the US market despite a slowdown in European demand.
Competing Against Lower-Cost Producers
Sertbaş acknowledged that Türkiye remains 40–50% more expensive than Far Eastern and Egyptian rivals due to high inflation and low exchange rate policies. However, he emphasized that the US market offers a valuable platform to showcase Türkiye’s manufacturing capabilities and explore new growth avenues.
Over 100 Business Meetings Planned
Tala Uğuz, Chairman of EHKİB’s Foreign Market Strategies Committee, noted that 10 of the participating companies are from Izmir and two from Istanbul. With the help of a professional matchmaking firm, over 100 bilateral meetings are expected during the fair.
Expanding Promotional Efforts in Europe
Uğuz also revealed plans for national participation in PV Manufacturing Paris, Fabric Start The Source in Munich, and Fashion SVP in London in the second half of 2025. The goal is to have 80 Turkish companies take part in six fairs across four countries by year’s end.
Participating Companies in New York: BETA Konf., Bilsar Tekstil, Sarp Jeans, Demoteks, İYA Tekstil, Kreateks, Maseksport, Meba Dış Ticaret, Merger Tekstil, Narkonteks, Seyfeli Dış Tic., Sun Tekstil.
