A central highlight of the 2026 edition is the Young Designers Competition, sponsored by ENS, one of Africa’s largest law firms. Registrations officially opened on 5 February 2026.
Carlyn Frittelli Davies of ENS said the firm is proud to support the competition for a third consecutive year, aligning with its Sustainability and Impact Practice groups in fostering creative entrepreneurship and strengthening industry systems, alongside its legal support for the African Fashion Guild.
The competition provides emerging designers with a high-visibility platform to present their creativity, innovation and commercial potential to industry leaders, buyers and media, while gaining exposure and professional support as they transition into the fashion market.

Leadership Transition Marks New Phase
The 2026 edition also signals a leadership transition, with Natasha Pearce stepping into the role of show director, succeeding Melissa Lewis. Pearce brings over two decades of industry experience, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and local manufacturing.
Pearce expressed enthusiasm for advancing the platform’s impact locally and internationally, emphasizing collaboration with designers, manufacturers and global partners to drive meaningful growth.
Outgoing show director Melissa Lewis reflected on the progress made over the past two years, highlighting the strengthening of industry relationships and the establishment of a solid foundation for future expansion. She voiced confidence in Pearce and the AFS team as the event enters its next chapter.
