Elsewedy Industrial Development and Turkish Giant Boni to Launch $100 Million Textile Factory in Egypt

Elsewedy Industrial Development, a subsidiary of Elsewedy Electric, has signed a landmark agreement with Turkish textile manufacturer Boni to establish a $100 million integrated textile factory in Egypt. The facility will be located in 10th of Ramadan City within the Industria 10th industrial zone.

The ambitious project will span 120,000 square meters and operate as a private free zone, positioning itself as a key contributor to Egypt’s strategy of becoming a regional textile and apparel hub. According to the official statement, operations at the new factory are scheduled to begin by the end of 2026, generating approximately 2,500 direct and indirect job opportunities.

The agreement was supported by the Egyptian Commercial Representation Office in Istanbul and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), underscoring the government’s commitment to attracting foreign direct investment and strengthening Egypt’s industrial base.

This new partnership aligns with Egypt’s broader economic development goals, especially in the textile sector—a vital industry that contributes significantly to national exports and employment. The integrated factory is expected to produce a wide range of textile products for both local consumption and international markets.

By bringing together Elsewedy’s industrial development expertise and Boni’s global experience in textile manufacturing, the project aims to bolster production capacity, transfer technology, and enhance the competitiveness of Egypt’s textile industry on the global stage.
