The MOMAD Buyers Programme will encourage the promotion and internationalisation of exhibiting companies

  • It will focus mainly on the European market, with the participation of multi-brand stores, department stores and agents from multiple countries
  • It will have representatives from Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovakia, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Russia, as well as other destinations like Canada and Mexico

The upcoming edition of MOMAD, to be held at IFEMA from 6 to 8 February, will have, as in previous editions, a significant International Buyers Programme, which will contribute to the promotion, invigoration and internationalisation of the exhibiting companies. In this edition, the Programme will focus mainly on the European market, with the participation of multi-brand stores, department stores and agents from countries such as Germany, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovakia, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Russia, in addition to others like Canada and Mexico.

Internationalisation is a strategy of increasing importance for Spanish companies in the textile and fashion sector; they find an important business niche in foreign markets. Proof of this is that exports from the sector continued to grow in 2019, by 2.5%, reaching 17.1 billion euros, according to initial data from the year just ended from the Textile and Clothing Information Center (CITYC).

The role of exports thus remains crucial for the sector in Spain. According to the Business Association for the Textile, Accessories and Leather Industry (ACOTEX), fashion accounts for 9% of Spanish trade exports. The main export destinations continue to be France, Italy, Portugal, Germany and the United Kingdom.

MOMAD, the main showcase for the fashion, accessories and footwear sector, will be held from Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th February, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. on the last day) in halls 12 and 14 at IFEMA.
