Spanish Buyers Look to Milano Fashion&Jewels for Fresh Made in Italy Collections

Italian Design Continues to Inspire One of Europe’s Most Fashion-Conscious Markets

Spain remains one of Europe’s most dynamic fashion markets, where consumers increasingly seek products that combine quality, distinctive design, and authentic craftsmanship. With the Spanish apparel market expected to reach US$20.5 billion in 2025 and forecast to grow steadily over the coming years, opportunities continue to expand for international brands capable of delivering premium products with strong identity.

Alongside apparel, demand for fashion accessories, handbags and jewellery continues to grow as Spanish consumers increasingly use fashion to express their personal style. In this environment, Made in Italy  continues to enjoy a strong reputation, recognized for creativity, elegance, superior craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Against this backdrop, Milano Fashion&Jewels  serves as an important meeting place where Italian manufacturers connect with Spanish retailers searching for innovative collections, emerging brands and long-term business partnerships.

Made in Italy Still Represents Design Excellence

Although the Spanish market has become increasingly competitive, retailers continue to view authentic Italian-made products as a benchmark for premium fashion.
During interviews with buyers attending Milano Fashion&Jewels, one common theme emerged: Spanish consumers continue to associate genuine Made in Italy products with elegance, originality and lasting quality.

Fashion Retailers Seek Creativity Beyond Fast Fashion

María José Andrades Fernández, Buyer at My Closet in Jerez de la Frontera, believes Milan remains one of the world’s strongest symbols of fashion and creativity.

According to Fernández, genuine Italian collections continue to attract consumers looking for refined design and premium quality. However, she also notes that today’s market includes many products carrying the “Made in Italy” label without reflecting the craftsmanship traditionally associated with Italian manufacturing.

Her boutique focuses primarily on women’s apparel, followed by fashion accessories, and she hopes Milano Fashion&Jewels will introduce fresh collections capable of bringing originality, elegance and femininity back to the market.
Price competitiveness also remains an important consideration, as consumers increasingly expect premium design while maintaining strong value for money.

Jewellery and Accessories Continue to Perform Strongly

For Paloma Meca Anaya, founder of Bisuterapia in Murcia, Italian collections play an important role in building customer loyalty.
She says one of the most common reactions from customers when discovering Italian collections is simple:
“Italians are unique.”

According to Meca Anaya, fashion accessories, costume jewellery and fine jewellery currently represent the strongest-performing categories in her business.
During Milano Fashion&Jewels, she hopes to discover distinctive brands capable of surprising customers with innovative designs and exceptional craftsmanship.

Consumers Want Complete Fashion Experiences

Dámaris Escobar Campos, Buyer at Pechon del Mar SL and Andromeda Moda, says Spanish consumers increasingly seek complete fashion solutions rather than individual products.

While apparel remains the company’s largest category, accessories such as handbags, belts, scarves and jewellery continue gaining importance as customers look for versatile ways to refresh their wardrobes without replacing entire outfits.
Escobar believes Made in Italy collections successfully combine timeless elegance with contemporary trends, creating added value across both physical retail stores and e-commerce channels.

For her business, Milano Fashion&Jewels offers an opportunity to discover exclusive collections, identify new suppliers and better understand the trends that will shape future consumer demand.

Spain Remains a Strategic Market for Italian Fashion

The interviews highlight several trends currently shaping Spain’s fashion retail sector:

  • Strong demand for authentic Made in Italy products
  • Growing interest in fashion accessories and jewellery
  • Consumers seeking originality rather than mass-market fashion
  • Greater focus on quality, craftsmanship and product identity
  • Continued importance of value alongside premium design

These trends create attractive opportunities for Italian manufacturers capable of delivering collections that balance creativity, quality and commercial competitiveness.
