Spanish Textile Machinery: Small in Size, Big in Commitment — Says ICOMATEX Managing Director

During ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025, David Valmana, Managing Director of ICOMATEX, highlighted a defining strength of Spain’s textile machinery industry: technology backed by genuine customer commitment. While acknowledging that Spain may not be the largest global machinery producer, Valmana emphasized that what distinguishes Spanish manufacturers is their personal approach to customer relationships. “When you buy from a Spanish company, you buy from a family,” Valmana stated.

“We do have technology — but we also have people behind the scenes. When a customer calls us, we attend to them. I don’t think anybody treats customers the way we do.” He explained that many Spanish machinery companies are family-owned, allowing them to maintain strong values, attention to detail, and long-term commitment to customer success. “We might not be the biggest,” he added, “but we are serious people, and we do care about our customers.”

This message resonated strongly with visitors seeking reliable technical partners amid the shifting dynamics of global textile manufacturing. Valmana’s remarks reflect Spain’s growing reputation as a high-quality and customer-focused machinery supplier, particularly as textile producers look beyond price tags and prioritize service reliability, technical support, and long-term partnerships.

IC O M A T E X continues to expand its presence in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, combining five decades of technology development with the personal values that define Spanish textile engineering.
