Milano Fashion&Jewels Strengthens Support for Young Designers Through National Fashion Competition

Milano Fashion&Jewels has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing the next generation of fashion talent by once again supporting the National Professione Moda Giovani Stilisti Competition, one of Italy’s most prestigious and longest-running fashion design contests.

Now in its 36th edition, the competition is organized by CNA Federmoda and has become a recognized platform for discovering emerging designers, providing them with valuable opportunities for visibility, industry connections, and professional development.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to encouraging creativity while helping young designers bridge the gap between education and the commercial realities of the fashion industry.

Supporting the Future of Italian Fashion

For decades, the Professione Moda Giovani Stilisti Competition has played a key role in identifying promising talent and guiding aspiring fashion professionals toward successful careers.

Milano Fashion&Jewels continues to play an active role in this mission by participating in the competition’s selection committee and offering winners a unique opportunity to present their creations during a collective fashion show held as part of the international trade event.

By connecting young designers with established brands and industry professionals, the initiative creates a direct link between emerging creativity and the broader fashion business ecosystem.

Finalists Selected in Florence

The competition’s selection committee, which includes representatives from Milano Fashion&Jewels, met in Florence on May 7 to evaluate submissions and select the finalists who will present their collections during the final stage of the competition in July.

At the conclusion of the event, five winners will be announced across the competition’s categories, including apparel, lingerie, beachwear, and fur fashion.

The selected talents will receive scholarships as well as the opportunity to showcase their collections during the September edition of Milano Fashion&Jewels, providing exposure to international buyers, fashion professionals, media representatives, and industry stakeholders.

Creating Opportunities Beyond Education

The partnership forms part of a broader strategy by Milano Fashion&Jewels to invest in education, innovation, and professional development within the fashion sector.

As the fashion industry faces rapid transformation driven by digitalization, sustainability, and changing consumer expectations, initiatives that support emerging talent are becoming increasingly important for ensuring the sector’s future competitiveness.

By offering young designers access to professional networks, international exposure, and commercial opportunities, the competition helps prepare participants for the challenges and opportunities of the global fashion market.

Building Connections Between Creativity and Industry

Milano Fashion&Jewels has increasingly positioned itself as more than a traditional trade exhibition, evolving into a platform that connects designers, brands, manufacturers, buyers, and educational institutions.

Its continued support for the Professione Moda Giovani Stilisti Competition reinforces this role, demonstrating the event’s commitment to fostering innovation and helping develop the next generation of fashion professionals.

As preparations continue for the competition finals and the upcoming September edition of Milano Fashion&Jewels, the initiative highlights the importance of investing in young talent as a driving force behind the future growth and evolution of Italy’s fashion industry.
