CANDIANI CUSTOM-The zero centimetre biodegradable and compostable custom jeans arrive in Milan.

MICRO-FACTORY FOR TAILOR-MADE SUSTAINABLE JEANS

Sustainability is a much-discussed topic in the textile industry today, so much so that it has become a priority and a challenge involving all players in the supply chain. The sector is experiencing a real turning point with major investments in research and development of sustainable solutions, the discovery of innovative fabrics and new environmentally friendly production methods.

In the wake of this trend, aimed at the creation of sustainable clothing, the collaboration between Manifattura Italiana Cucirini and Candiani was born, leading to the creation of zero centimetre, ethical, biodegradable and compostable custom jeans at Candiani Custom, in Piazza Mentana 3, Milan.

The first micro-factory of custom jeans made, treated and washed on site by craftsmen, using Candiani’s most sustainable denim cloths and the most advanced technology. A unique experience in the world.

CANDIANI CUSTOM: URBAN-FACTORY IN MILAN

The pillars on which Candiani Custom is based are customisation, transparency, sustainability, technology and Made in Italy. Every single pair of jeans is produced only on request: the customer is placed at the centre of the project, becoming the designer and configuring his or her own garment in every detail.

An involving experience that aims at awakening or discovering enthusiasm for themes such as quality, sustainability, local production, direct relationship with the world of manufacturing.

Thanks to the use of the latest textile innovations patented by Candiani Denim, starting with the COREVA bio-stretch fabric, Candiani Custom can produce the world’s first 100% biodegradable and compostable jeans. A real example of circular economy and total traceability of the supply chain.

THE COLLABORATION PROJECT BETWEEN MANIFATTURA ITALIANA CUCIRINI AND CANDIANI GETS UNDERWAY

The project of the micro-factory in Via Mentana 3, Milan, involves several Italian companies of the small and medium industry, leaders in their respective fields, including Manifattura Italiana Cucirini, with over 100 years of history in the production of innovative yarns for the textile and fashion industry.

The absolute protagonist of this partnership between MIC and Candiani is MEGAFLEX: the natural yarn obtained from wood pulp from controlled forests, composed 100% of TENCEL(TM) by Lenzing AG.

The great resistance and hygroscopicity, together with the natural biodegradability and dyeability similar to cotton, make this fibre optimal for environmentally and human friendly productions mainly in the fields of denim, knitwear and underwear.

Thanks to the high quality of the materials used, MEGAFLEX yarn has obtained Standard 100 certification from OEKO-TEX Class I, the most restrictive, which ensures compliance with legal requirements of the textile products tested.
