SANKO Textile Joins TRUECYCLED Community to Advance Textile Circularity

At ITM 2026, Trützschler officially welcomed SANKO Textile to the TRUECYCLED community, marking the milestone with a certificate handover ceremony that highlighted the growing adoption of circular textile manufacturing in Türkiye.

With more than 122 years of textile manufacturing experience, SANKO Textile has strengthened its commitment to sustainable production by integrating the TRUECYCLED process into its operations. The technology enables the company to transform post-consumer textile waste into high-quality ring-spun yarns, demonstrating how circular production can be implemented on an industrial scale.

Circular T-Shirts Demonstrate Practical Recycling

One of the highlights at the Trützschler booth during ITM 2026 was a collection of T-shirts manufactured from recycled ring-spun yarns produced under Sanko Holding’s Re&Up recycling brand.

The garments illustrate how post-consumer textile waste can be successfully converted into premium-quality apparel suitable for everyday wear while reducing the industry’s dependence on virgin raw materials.

The T-shirts are manufactured using a dyed single jersey fabric (Ne 30/1, carded) composed of 80% Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) cotton and 20% Re&Up post-consumer recycled cotton. The neck binding features a dyed 1×1 elastane rib (Ne 24/1, carded), combining BCI cotton, recycled cotton and elastane to provide enhanced comfort, durability and garment performance.

Industrial Scale Meets Sustainable Manufacturing

With an impressive production capacity of approximately 400 tons of yarn per day and vertically integrated operations spanning spinning through finishing, SANKO Textile demonstrates that large-scale manufacturing and responsible production practices can successfully coexist.

The company’s investment reflects the accelerating transition of major textile producers toward circular business models capable of delivering both environmental benefits and consistent product quality.

TRUECYCLED Supports High-Quality Fiber Recycling

Developed by Trützschler, TRUECYCLED is a complete spinning preparation solution designed specifically for the advanced recycling of textile waste. The system covers every stage of the process—from opening and cleaning through carding and drawing of secondary fibers—ensuring stable production processes and consistent yarn quality.

As demand for recycled textile products continues to increase worldwide, integrated recycling technologies such as TRUECYCLED are expected to play a vital role in helping manufacturers achieve circular economy targets while maintaining the performance standards required by global apparel brands.

The partnership between Trützschler and SANKO Textile represents another important step toward scalable textile recycling, demonstrating that post-consumer textile waste can be transformed into commercially viable, high-quality yarns and garments suitable for mainstream apparel production.
