Spain’s Textile Machinery Manufacturers Combine Technology, Fair Pricing, and Sustainability — “Innovation with Human Values,” Says AMEC
At ITMA ASIA + CITME Singapore 2025, Spanish textile machinery manufacturers stood out not only for their advanced technology, but also for something increasingly rare in global industry: human-centered business values.
In an interview with Alejandro Gallego Alcaide, Director of International Business at AMEC (Spain’s Association of Internationalizing Industries), he shared insights into what makes Spanish textile machinery companies competitive on the global stage.
“When you work with a Spanish machinery company, you don’t just buy equipment — you partner with a family,” he stated.
Technology + Profitability for Customers
According to Gallego, many Spanish textile machinery manufacturers are family-owned businesses spanning three or four generations, giving them a deep understanding of customer needs and long-term partnerships.
Instead of pursuing aggressive margins, these companies focus on fair pricing and profitability for their clients.
“Our manufacturers work thoroughly on their margins to offer the best price. The goal is simple: help textile producers be profitable.”
This operational efficiency allows Spanish technology to maintain competitive pricing while preserving European quality standards.
A Movement Called “Positive Industry”
Gallego also introduced Positive Industry, an initiative that unites 400 Spanish manufacturing companies— including textile machinery producers—under shared values:
- fair salaries and responsible business practices
- continuous investment in innovation and sustainability
- social and cultural impact in every market they enter
