Raff Military Textile Launches Strategic Africa Tour to Deepen Defence Partnerships in Southern Africa

Raff Military Textile, one of Türkiye’s top defence industry companies, has announced the launch of a high-level strategic tour across Southern Africa, aiming to strengthen long-term partnerships and advance defence cooperation in the region. The initiative is part of a broader diplomatic and trade effort supported by Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM).

The multi-nation tour will span Mozambique (18–22 June), South Africa (22–23 June), and Zambia (23–27 June), targeting government agencies, private sector players, and defence institutions to expand Türkiye’s footprint in Africa’s growing defence markets.

Mozambique: A Strategic Priority

Mozambique is a central focus of the tour, with a 2024 defence budget of nearly $450 million USD and increasing demand for security and modernisation. Raff Military Textile, which already operates in 45 African countries, plans to deepen cooperation through technology transfer, local collaboration, and sustainable business models.

“Mozambique is a critical market for us,” said Eray Yükseloğlu, CEO of Raff Military Textile. “We aim to establish long-term partnerships—not just by exporting products, but by creating value through local alliances and innovation.”

During its stay in Maputo, the company will engage in B2B meetings and participate in official forums to promote Turkish defence solutions tailored to regional needs.

Expanding in South Africa and Zambia

After Mozambique, the delegation will move to South Africa, one of Africa’s largest defence economies, and then to Zambia, where national efforts to modernise the military offer new partnership opportunities. In both countries, Raff Military Textile aims to promote its military uniforms, tactical gear, and integrated defence solutions through direct engagement with defence authorities and private sector leaders.

The company has been sharing real-time updates from its African operations via Twitter and will continue to highlight key milestones of the tour through LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook platforms.

Türkiye’s Growing Defence Role in Africa

The tour underscores Türkiye’s rising influence in African defence diplomacy. Turkish defence products—praised for their affordability, reliability, and local adaptability—are increasingly sought after across the continent. Raff Military Textile’s role in this ecosystem reflects the strategic importance of textile and equipment manufacturing in Türkiye’s wider export strategy.

Through this initiative, the company not only reinforces Türkiye’s presence but also contributes to economic development, technology sharing, and regional security cooperation.

A New Chapter in Defence Collaboration

As Raff Military Textile sets out on this new chapter in Africa, its focus remains on building trust-based, strategic partnerships that support the continent’s evolving defence needs. With its latest tour targeting Mozambique, South Africa, and Zambia, the company is poised to further cement its leadership in defence collaboration and innovation across Africa.
