Nigeria is set to take centre stage at the upcoming Türkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF) 2025, with the Chairman of the Nigeria-Türkiye Business Council (NTBC), Dele Oye, leading the country’s official presentation.
The high-level forum, taking place on October 16–17, 2025, at the Istanbul Congress Centre, is organised by the Foreign Economic Relations Board in collaboration with the Presidency of Türkiye, the African Union Commission, and the Turkish Ministry of Trade. Held under the theme “Addressing Challenges, Unlocking Opportunities: Building Stronger Türkiye-Africa Economic Partnerships”, the event is expected to attract more than 4,000 participants, including African heads of state, ministers, CEOs, and senior business leaders.
Nigeria’s Strategic Position
Oye underlined Nigeria’s role as a gateway to West and Central Africa, stressing its potential to drive cross-border partnerships with Türkiye.
“Nigeria is strategically positioned as the gateway to West and Central Africa. With over 200 million people, we offer a huge consumer market and vast opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships with Türkiye. This forum is an opportunity to unlock these potentials,” he stated.
He pointed to Nigeria’s large population, abundant natural resources, and rapidly expanding private sector as key attractions for Turkish investors.
