Nigeria to Showcase Trade Prospects at Türkiye-Africa Forum 2025

Nigeria is set to take centre stage at the upcoming Türkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF) 2025, with the Chairman of the Nigeria-Türkiye Business Council (NTBC), Dele Oye, leading the country’s official presentation.

The high-level forum, taking place on October 16–17, 2025, at the Istanbul Congress Centre, is organised by the Foreign Economic Relations Board in collaboration with the Presidency of Türkiye, the African Union Commission, and the Turkish Ministry of Trade. Held under the theme “Addressing Challenges, Unlocking Opportunities: Building Stronger Türkiye-Africa Economic Partnerships”, the event is expected to attract more than 4,000 participants, including African heads of state, ministers, CEOs, and senior business leaders.

Nigeria’s Strategic Position

Oye underlined Nigeria’s role as a gateway to West and Central Africa, stressing its potential to drive cross-border partnerships with Türkiye.

“Nigeria is strategically positioned as the gateway to West and Central Africa. With over 200 million people, we offer a huge consumer market and vast opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships with Türkiye. This forum is an opportunity to unlock these potentials,” he stated.

He pointed to Nigeria’s large population, abundant natural resources, and rapidly expanding private sector as key attractions for Turkish investors.

Sectors in Focus

Nigeria’s Country Presentation at TABEF 2025 will highlight high-growth investment opportunities across:

  • Agriculture – Expanding agro-industrial value chains and food security
  • Solid Minerals – Unlocking green and rare minerals potential
  • Manufacturing – Boosting industrial capacity and textile competitiveness
  • Digital Innovation – Driving growth in Nigeria’s tech-driven economy
  • Renewable Energy – Advancing clean energy solutions for inclusive development

Driving Regional Integration

The forum will also emphasize Nigeria’s role as a regional trade hub linking markets across West and Central Africa. Discussions will address pressing challenges and opportunities across the continent, including food security, textile value chain competitiveness, green minerals, pharmaceutical transformation, and technological cooperation in defence and security.

Oye reaffirmed NTBC’s long-term commitment to fostering trade and innovation-driven ties:

“Our vision at the Nigeria-Türkiye Business Council is to build lasting economic bridges that facilitate trade, foster innovation, and drive inclusive growth.”

Strengthening Bilateral Ties

Nigeria’s prominent role at TABEF 2025 is expected to deepen bilateral trade relations with Türkiye, attract sustainable investments, and reinforce the country’s position as a driver of Africa’s economic transformation. By showcasing its reform-driven policies, growing industries, and investment-friendly environment, Nigeria aims to present itself as Africa’s leading destination for trade, investment, and innovation.
