Large Textile-Industrial Technology Park to Rise in Tashkent Suburbs

Construction has commenced on a large textile-industrial technology park in the suburbs of Tashkent, marking a significant investment in Uzbekistan’s textile industry. The project, which carries an estimated cost of $350 million, aims to bolster the region’s economic growth and enhance its industrial capabilities, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

The press service of the khokimiyat of the capital region announced that the park will be situated in the Nurli Zamin mahalla of the Yukorichirchik district, covering an expansive area of 69.2 hectares. This strategic location is expected to facilitate easy access to both raw materials and markets, thereby optimizing production processes and distribution networks.

Construction and installation work are projected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025. Upon its launch, the technology park will serve as a significant employment hub, creating over two thousand jobs for local residents. This initiative is part of a broader effort to stimulate the local economy and provide sustainable employment opportunities in the region.

In addition to job creation, the technology park is anticipated to attract both domestic and foreign investments, fostering innovation and technological advancements in Uzbekistan’s textile sector. The park will feature state-of-the-art facilities designed to support various stages of textile production, from raw material processing to the manufacturing of finished goods. This integrated approach aims to enhance efficiency and product quality, positioning Uzbekistan as a competitive player in the global textile market.

This development aligns with recent expert recommendations on advancing Uzbekistan’s textile, clothing, and knitting industry. Experts have emphasized the importance of not only fulfilling contract sewing orders but also intensively promoting domestic brands. By focusing on brand development and market expansion, Uzbekistan aims to increase its share in the international textile market and establish a strong presence for its homegrown products.

The textile-industrial technology park is expected to play a pivotal role in achieving these goals. By providing a centralized location for production and innovation, the park will enable local businesses to scale up operations and improve their competitive edge. This, in turn, will contribute to the overall growth and modernization of Uzbekistan’s textile industry.

As the project progresses, it will likely attract attention from various stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and potential investors. The successful completion and operation of the technology park will demonstrate Uzbekistan’s commitment to industrial development and economic diversification, setting a precedent for future initiatives in other sectors.

The upcoming years will be crucial for the project’s development, and the anticipation surrounding its completion underscores its significance for the region. With the foundation now laid, the focus will shift towards ensuring timely progress and maintaining the project’s momentum to meet the 2025 deadline.
