EFI Reggiani: Sustainability and Efficiency in Textile Printing

Interview with Mr. Vincenzo Marino, General Manager at EFI Reggiani During ITM 2024 Exhibition

Mr. Vincenzo Marino, coming from a service background at EFI where he served as the Director of Service, brings extensive expertise to his current role as General Manager at EFI Reggiani.

Showcasing the EcoTerra Range

At the ITM 2024 exhibition, Mr. Marino highlighted the EcoTerra range, a small yet significant part of the Reggiani portfolio. The EcoTerra machine is a new and highly innovative digital printing solution, designed to dramatically reduce water consumption and increase overall efficiency. This machine allows customers to have an all-in-one equipment solution, integrating the entire digital printing process, including finishing the printed textile without the need for additional pre- and post-treatment processes.

Mr. Marino shared a success story from Turkey, where a customer transitioned from traditional methods to fully integrated digital printing with the EcoTerra machine. This transformation exemplifies the machine’s capability to streamline the printing process, making it a complete, efficient solution.

Extensive Reggiani Portfolio

Beyond the EcoTerra, Reggiani offers a comprehensive range of printers. From small 8-printhead models to the single-pass Bolt, the Reggiani lineup caters to various printing needs. During the exhibition, they also introduced the Exeon, an evolution of the Bolt single-pass printer, and showcased the Hyper, the fastest step-and-scan printer globally. Additionally, they launched the new Extra model with 48 printheads.

Evaluating the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa Textile Markets

Mr. Marino emphasized the strategic importance of the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa markets for EFI Reggiani. These regions represent traditional strongholds where the company has a consolidated presence. Countries like Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh, along with emerging markets in Africa, particularly Kenya, offer promising opportunities.

The demand for high productivity and high throughput printers in these regions aligns with Reggiani’s product offerings. The company actively promotes pigment printing, which is gaining traction globally. The Middle East market, in particular, shows increasing interest in balancing productivity with environmental impact and cost efficiency, aligning perfectly with Reggiani’s goals.

Reggiani’s Continuous Innovation and Legacy

Reggiani is currently undergoing a phase of redevelopment and renewal, marked by the opening of a new plant and the introduction of new products. This evolution is in continuity with their rich history and legacy. Despite the focus on sustainability, high efficiency, and high productivity, the company remains committed to quality, performance, and the total cost of ownership.

Mr. Marino takes pride in Reggiani’s enduring legacy, highlighting how customers worldwide continue to use 15-20-year-old Reggiani printers, with ongoing support and upgrades from the company. This long-lasting performance is a testament to the quality and reliability of Reggiani products.

Vision for the Future

Looking to the future, Mr. Marino emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation. Sustainability remains a key megatrend, with ongoing investment in R&D to minimize environmental impact. Additionally, the future of printing lies in connectivity and interconnectivity, with a focus on remote support and service.

Reggiani aims to enhance the integration of printers with the overall supply chain and infrastructure through advancements in software development, artificial intelligence, and ecosystem connectivity. This forward-thinking approach ensures that Reggiani remains at the forefront of the digital printing industry.
