The African textile and apparel sector will once again take center stage as Destination Africa 2025 opens its doors on November 12–13 in Cairo. The event, one of the continent’s most important sourcing platforms, will unite leading manufacturers, buyers, and global fashion brands seeking to tap into Africa’s rapidly expanding production and export capabilities.
Launched in 2016, Destination Africa has become a key meeting point for global sourcing executives, offering insights into the continent’s growing manufacturing capacity, competitive costs, and improving quality standards.
Strong International Presence Expected
Building on the success of its 2024 edition, which welcomed 80 African exhibitors and over 210 international buyers, the 2025 event is expected to attract an even broader range of participants from across Europe, North America, and Asia.
According to organizer data, last year’s surveys showed strong satisfaction among participants:
- 96% of exhibitors said they would recommend the event,
- 93% of buyers found the products they sought, and
- 85% reported valuable new business connections.
The 2025 edition will continue to host top global fashion and retail brands, including Lululemon, Boohoo Group, Marks & Spencer, Next, Koton, Hugo Boss, and Ralph Lauren. Countries showing the strongest interest in participation include Türkiye, Poland, Italy, Ireland, and France.
Cairo’s Strategic Advantage in Global Sourcing
Held over two days, Destination Africa 2025 will offer a comprehensive platform to connect with African producers across multiple sectors — garments, denim, yarn, and home textiles. The fair also highlights the region’s growing trade potential through preferential agreements such as QIZ (Qualifying Industrial Zones), GAFTA (Greater Arab Free Trade Area), and the Agadir Agreement, all of which offer customs and market-access advantages for international buyers.
Strengthening Africa’s Role in the Global Supply Chain
Destination Africa 2025 aims to deepen partnerships between African manufacturers and international brands while showcasing the region’s increasing contribution to sustainable and competitive textile production.
By positioning Cairo as a strategic sourcing hub for global apparel supply chains, the event reinforces Africa’s emergence as a key player in the future of global textile manufacturing and trade.
