Colombiamoda 2025: Medellín Reinforces Its Role as Latin America’s Fashion Capital

More than 60,000 attendees, $17.7 million in economic impact, and a bold declaration of sustainable and creative leadership

The 36th edition of Colombiamoda has once again confirmed Medellín as the beating heart of Latin American fashion and innovation. From July 23 to 25, 2025, the city welcomed over 60,000 visitors from 50 countries, including 2,000 international buyers, in what is now considered one of the most strategic fashion sourcing platforms in the Americas.

Held at Plaza Mayor and extended into urban spaces across the city, Colombiamoda 2025 featured 650+ exhibiting brands, 34 runway shows, 50+ expert-led conferences, and a dynamic calendar of business forums, trend presentations, and sustainability initiatives.

A Celebration of Culture, Commerce, and Creativity

Under the theme “Fashion that Transcends”, Colombiamoda presented a unique integration of business, design, and cultural identity. From the opening show by Agua Bendita at the iconic Plaza Botero to the closing act by Y/Out, the event displayed the strength of Latin American creativity in fashion, promoting diversity, inclusion, and co-creation.

The show’s expansion beyond traditional venues—such as into Parques del Río—reflected Medellín’s growing stature as a regional capital of innovation. With brands from Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Panama, and Ecuador joining national exhibitors from 14 Colombian regions, the event attracted major attention from global buyers and fashion institutions.

Knowledge and Innovation in Focus

The Knowledge Pavilion, a collaborative initiative between Inexmoda, Sapiencia, and the Pascual Bravo University Institution, attracted more than 3,000 attendees both physically and online. The space hosted 50 conferences, exploring pressing industry themes including circular economy, biotechnology, AI-driven design, and sustainable branding.

The Green Talks, supported by global sustainability pioneers like VEJA, and the Trends Forum, added further depth, emphasizing strategic tools for a more competitive and environmentally conscious fashion industry.

Sustainability as a Strategic Pillar

Colombiamoda 2025 placed sustainability at the core of its agenda. The Sustainability Route featured 50+ brands applying circular and traceable production models. In collaboration with Coca-Cola, the Circular Fashion Market brought together 20 brands that are innovating with recycled PET, hemp, and regenerated cotton—signaling a shift toward eco-conscious fashion consumption in the region.

The show also spotlighted 10 companies with projects aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing sustainability as a strategic differentiator for both brands and consumers.

Fashion Meets Lifestyle

For the first time in its history, Colombiamoda expanded beyond fashion into lifestyle through Run the Runway, a 5K urban race integrating sport, well-being, and design. With more than 1,500 participants, this creative activation launched the fair with the message that fashion is not just about clothing—it’s a way of life.

Economic and Cultural Impact

According to Medellín’s Tourist Intelligence System (SIT), the event generated an economic impact of $17.7 million, largely through MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. The Medellín City Government also reported business projections exceeding $312 million pesos for local entrepreneurs, confirming the fair’s economic reach beyond the catwalk.

“The 36th edition of Colombiamoda consolidates Colombia as the epicenter where business, design, and culture unite. Medellín is not only Latin America’s fashion capital—it’s also a place where sustainability, creativity, and commerce intersect to define the future of the global fashion industry,” said Sebastián Díez, Executive President of Inexmoda.

About Colombiamoda

Organized by Inexmoda, Colombiamoda is the leading fashion and textile trade fair in Latin America. Now in its 36th edition, the event serves as a strategic platform for sourcing, innovation, and networking among the most important players in the global fashion ecosystem.
