Biancalani Advocates for Stronger Intellectual Property Protection in China

At ITMA Asia + CITME, Mr. Rossano Biancalani, President of Biancalani Textile Machinery, shared important insights on the protection of intellectual property (IP) in the textile industry, emphasizing its critical role for European manufacturers, particularly in Italy.

Mr. Biancalani highlighted the significant efforts made by European textile machinery makers to safeguard their innovations through global patent filings. “We invest heavily in intellectual property protection, not only in Europe but worldwide,” he stated.

IP Protection Gains Momentum

He expressed concern about the ongoing issue of companies copying European designs without proper authorization. However, he noted positive developments in China, where the government has introduced new measures to support the protection of patents. “This shift represents a growing recognition of the importance of IP, which was not always prioritized in the past,” Mr. Biancalani observed.

Intellectual property is crucial as it represents the time, money, and effort invested in developing new technologies. Protecting these investments ensures that companies can continue to innovate and provide valuable advancements to customers.

Biancalani Textile Machinery remains committed to filing patents in major global markets, including China, to safeguard its technologies and support a fair competitive landscape. “It’s vital that everyone understands the importance of IP protection,” Mr. Biancalani concluded.
