Artcore, modulyss’ latest collection of consciously crafted carpet tiles

Artcore, modulyss’ latest collection of consciously crafted carpet tiles, challenges the role and function of soft flooring once againINSPIRED BY NATURE

Artcore is built to shape and transform spaces like never before, offering limitless possibilities for creativity and artistry.
Modular in every way, Artcore pushes the boundaries of what soft flooring can do.

It gives you the power to shape and define the spaces we live and work in, allowing your intuition and intention to run free.
It offers an opportunity to rewild the interior world, creating unique patterned transitions that reconnect us with nature, restoring balance and wellbeing.

DESIGNED FOR CREATIVITY

Artcore is inspired by the transitions seen in nature – the space between two states, where a material or an environment changes from one thing to another. The way a forest turns into a meadow. The way the city gives way to the country. The boundary where tree bark becomes covered in moss.

Inspired by these natural transitions and the concept of biophilic design, Joris created four patterns to play with, allowing you to create an entirely unique, completely bespoke floor design.

Aesthetics aside, the product itself has been technically developed with wellbeing and circularity front and centre. Choosing the highest standards in light reflectance values and acoustics, the Artcore collection has also been created with 100% ECONYL® yarn and ecoBack or comfortBackeco backing.

Designer Joris Peutz has been creating exquisite soft flooring for twenty years. Looking to the world around him with an artist’s eye for form and function, he created Artcore from his take on nature itself.

“ During the pandemic, I felt the world was going through a transition like never before.

I began to find similar transitions in the outside world: transitions between nature and man-made, transitions in nature itself. Patterns that quiet the mind and are able to create a sort of sanctuary by their unique shape or dimensions.”

Through texture, pattern and sustainable materials, Artcore brings all the benefits of a natural environment into your space.
It provides the opportunity to think differently about design and even the notion of sustainability itself.

BRINGING THE OUTDOORS IN

At modulyss®, we design differently, because we know that there’s more to our environment than meets the eye. It’s how we live, work, heal, learn and create. Artcore was made to bring elements of the natural world into interiors, reconnecting us with the uplift in wellbeing that comes from time spent in nature.

In creating it, we realised our ambition to design soft flooring based on the principles of biophilic design. Artcore evokes a feeling of being in nature, enhancing mindfulness and paving the way for problem-solving and idea generation.

PATTERNED TRANSITIONS

Inspired by the raw transitions found in our surroundings, Artcore explores the interaction between various natural and man-made elements in four distinct patterns: Core, Mezzo, Litho and Etch.

Like a concrete road running through a forest, linking two towns together, or stone walls being slowly covered in moss, this collection invites you to create unique pattern gradients that move fluidly from one end of the room to the other.

It gives you the creative freedom to rethink spatial design and transform commercial interiors into interconnected and multifunctional spaces.

Each Artcore design echoes the intricate textures found in our natural environment, creating a tactile appeal to the senses. When brought together in the combination of your choosing, these different designs become a one-of-a-kind organic pattern with its own unique biophilic ambience.

THE POWER OF COLOUR

Just like nature herself the Artcore collection offers a wide range of both muted and vibrant colours to choose from, allowing you to work with your intention and style to create the effect and atmosphere you have in mind.

According to psychologists around the world, colour accounts for up to 60% of our emotional response to a room. While greens and blues evoke calm and echo our natural surroundings, yellows and reds can suggest positivity and high energy. Muted tones used in a large, multifunctional space add a dreamy, mellow effect to your overall design, while vibrant shades lend brightness and sophistication.

THE GOLD STANDARD

The entire Artcore collection is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold, keeping with modulyss®’ ambitions for thoughtful sustainability.

At modulyss®, our goal is to maximise our contribution to the circular economy as a matter of principle. We do this by keeping our materials in use for as long as possible and by minimising waste.

Currently, almost half of our collections are Cradle to Cradle Certified® at the Gold or Silver level and, through our Limit Your Footprint programme, we offer the opportunity to tread lightly on the planet without compromising on quality or design.

A FIBRE FOR THE FUTURE

The Artcore collection is made from 100% regenerated ECONYL® nylon yarn.

The ECONYL® Regeneration System is a unique, efficient process. It takes nylon from waste materials, rescues it from building sites and oceans, and feeds it back into production cycles.

From fishing nets to old carpets, waste items are regenerated into first-grade nylon, which has the same qualities as virgin nylon made from raw fossil material. This has the benefit of creating sustainable carpet tiles, while also reducing ocean pollution and the effects of industrial waste.

Artcore tiles are also lined with ecoBack or comfortBackeco, our 100% recyclable, Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold backings.
Both backings are designed for the circular economy and can easily be disassembled and recycled into new backing solutions.

ComfortBackeco is our innovative all-in-one backing that combines the shock-absorbing and noise-reducing properties of comfort back with the ecological and circular benefits of ecoBack.
