Tunisia-Canada Technical Textile Networking Mission Set for April 3–8, 2025

A high-level Tunisian-Canadian networking mission focused on the technical textile sector is scheduled to take place from April 3 to 8, 2025, in Montréal and Toronto, bringing together a dozen Tunisian exporting companies to explore partnership and business opportunities in North America.

The mission is part of the Qualitative Growth for Employment (CQE) project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European Union (EU), and implemented by the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ).

The highlight of the mission will be the participation of Tunisian companies in B2B meetings during the Canada International Textile & Apparel Expo on April 7–8, 2025, where they will connect with leading Canadian and international stakeholders in the technical textile industry.

A significant milestone in Tunisia-Canada cooperation was recently marked with the signing of a strategic agreement between the Monastir-El Fejja Competitive Cluster (MFCPôle) and Canadian partners Vestechpro and TechniTextile Québec. This agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in research, innovation, and high-performance textile solutions.

As part of the program, field visits to Canadian technical textile companies are scheduled for April 4, offering Tunisian participants an opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technologies and gain insight into Canada’s expertise and innovation in the sector.

According to GIZ, this initiative reflects a mutual commitment between Tunisia and Canada to boost industrial and scientific synergies, foster sustainable innovation, and enhance global competitiveness in technical textiles through bilateral and triangular cooperation with partners from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

The mission underscores the growing importance of technical textiles as a key growth area within Tunisia’s textile sector, with the potential to drive employment, exports, and knowledge exchange.
